OR blog #8
I just read section eight and nine of Night by Elie Wiesel. And that is the end of the book. I really enjoyed this book it was filled with many events and adventures. It also kept me interested in it through out the whole book because there were so many different things going on with Eliezer and his family and all the other prisoners. In these sections Eliezer's father becomes very weak and ill and is reaching death. Eliezer trys to help by bringing him soup but selfishly wants it for himself because they don't often get fed. His father died later from being beat by his "roommates" and from not enough food and water. Eliezer stays in Buchenwald thinking only of food. The American Army comes and saves the remaining Jews from the camp and they all ran off searching for food. Later Eliezer got food poisoning and became very ill. And for the first time he looked in the mirror since before the camp and saw a corpse. And that is what happened in the last sections of the book Night.

OR blog #7
I just read section seven of Night by Elie Wiesel. In this section the prisoners arrive at the Gleiwitz camp. When they arrive Eliezer and his father and all the other prisoners get thrown on top of each other on the ground. Eliezer notices that he is lying on top of Juliek, the musician who befriended him in Buna. Once he finds some breathing room he calls for his father and discovers that he is near. Eliezer fell asleep to Juliek's violin playing and when he wakes in the morning he finds Juliek dead. After 3 days without bread or water, there is another selection which his father is chosen to stand with those condemned to die, Eliezer runs after him. Both Eliezer and his father are able to sneak back over to the other side. The prisoners are taken to a field, where a train of roofless cattle cars comes to pick them up. The train travels for ten days and nights, and the Jews go unfed, living on snow. These are some events that happened in section seven.

Hero in a box
In almost every single Disney movie there is atleast one hero. Prince/princess, warrior, or just a friend. There are many different types of heroes in disney movies. Here are some examples of Disney heroes:

Peter pan was a hero, saving everyone and fighting off captain hook.

Mulan was a heroine because she went to war for her father and helped in battle.
Hercules became a strong Hero with help and he achieved many things as a hero.

Arthur was a hero. He is just a little boy but heroes aren't just big strong people they can be little boys too.
CONCLUSION:
In Disney movies there are many different kinds of heroes, ranging from men, women, animals, prince/princess, warriors, and just friends. They are all strong and successful with their role as a hero. Each hero is selfless and perform their tasks for the good of others, that is why they are heroes.

I just read section six of Night by Elie Wiesel. In this section there is a blizzard and the prisoners of Buna are being evacuated. If they decide to stop running they get shot and a little boy that was running next to Eliezer decided he couldn't run any more and he got trampled to death. The only thing that keeps Eliezer from stopping is that he is near his father who is running alongside him. The pain of his injured foot is very bad but after about 42 miles they came to a stop at a deserted village. This is one of the main things that happens in this section.

OR blog #5
I just read section five of Night by Elie Wiesel. In this section they are celebrating the jewish high holidays such as Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kipper. Eliezer's religious rebellion intensifies and he can't find a reason to praise God with all the misery. Eliezer starts to believe that man is stronger than God and that the Jews are God's chosen people and he decides that they have only been chosen to be massacred. After Yom Kipper Eliezer gets seperated from his father, but one day after work he found out that his father had survived the selections. But it is not very lucky because he has lost faith in God and tells of a devout rabbi who confesses that he can no longer believe in God after what he has seen in the concentration camps. In the winter conditions Eliezer's foot swells up and he has to undergo an operation. Him and his father chose to be evacuated with each other when the German army come. And that is a little bit of what happened in section five.
Siddharth blog assignment #4
Hello, my name is Govachena and I am a very good friend of Siddhartha. I have been right next to him throughout his search for Nirvana. I think that Siddhartha did truly achieve Nirvana and his goal. I saw that after he left Kamala he learned that having a lot of material goods doesn't make you any happier.
Siddhartha learned many lessons. One lesson he learned was that you don't need material goods to be happy. He learned this after leaving Kamala, he learned that living a material good life is not what he was sent out for. Kamala and all the material goods only made Siddhartha sad and depressed.
I would say that I am very happy that Siddhartha reached his goal and is happy im very pleased with him. I think he had a lot of bad experiences in his journey but I feel like they bettered him. And that you need to make mistakes and have bad experiences to achieve the good experiences and the true meanings in life.

I just read section four of Night by Elie Wiesel. In this section Eliezer requires quarentine and medical inspection. He gets chosen by a Kapo to serve in a unit of prisoners. There job includes counting electrical fittings in a civilian warehouse. His father ends up serving in the same unit. He meets a Jewish violinist named Juliek, and his brothers Yosi and Tibi. His brothers are Zionists. They favor the creation of a Jewsih homeland in Palestine. Eliezer is planning to move to Palestine after the war. And there are a couple other events that go on in this section that were very interesting to hear about.

I just read section three of Night by Elie Wiesel. In this section of the book they are in Birkenau, the people that are assumed to be weaker or less useful are seperated from the others to be killed. Eliezer and his father are seperated from his mother and sisters. They meet a prisoner that tells them to lie about their ages and other information so that they can get away with more. They see people being burned in pits and other horrible things happening around them realizing that this was unhuman. Jews being stripped from left and right and being beat and much more. Eliezer and his father are still together for know but don't know what will happen in the future. That is a little of what section three was about.

OR blog #2
I just read section one of Night by elie wiesel. It talked alot about the background of it and of the main character and more about what is to expect from the book. The main character in this book is Eliezer he is a 12 year old boy that lives in the Transylvanian town of sighet. He has 2 older sisters and a younger sister and his family is an orthodox jewish family that follows the jewish tradition and law very strictly and his parents are shop keepers. Eliezer studies the jewish oral law, Talmud and he studies the jewish mystical texts of the cabbala. Some events/things that happen in section one are that Eliezer finds a teacher, the Hungarian government falls into the hands of the facists and then the German armies occupy Hungary, and the Nazis began to deport the jews in increments, and Eliezer's family is the last to leave Sighet. Those are some of the things that went on in this section.
Siddhartha Blog assignment #3
Dear Mary Ann,
My friend Siddhartha is having trouble and needs some help. He is trying to find his enlightment but keeps getting distracted and lost which is making him very frustrated. He has tryed many things but can not seem to reach enlightment. He has lost many good friends such as Govinda, his best friend.
Along with losing Govinda, Siddhartha has also lost his dad because he decided to join the semanas to reach enlightment. Siddhartha feels very lonely because everyone that was close to him before is not anymore and he doesn't know what to do. He doesn't have anyone to turn to and his having a very hard time trying to reach enlightment. What should Siddhartha do?
Sincerely,
Govachena
Dear Govachena,
It sounds like Siddhartha is going through a lot at once and is stuck. I think that he should first think if he should follow a path and stick to it or go find his dad or Govinda and straighten things out with them and then go follow a path if he chooses. If he chooses to follow a path he should block out all the temptations and be confident and strong in the path he is following so that he can reach enlightment. If he chooses to find his old close relationships and then follow a path he should find them and clear things up. Maybe he will learn something from them and their experiences and then that will help him choose what to do or what path he should follow to reach enlightment. I would suggest that you keep pushing him to find enlightment and help him no matter what he chooses to do. I am very sorry about your friend Siddhartha and I hope everything goes well.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann

For my outside reading book, I am reading Night by Elie Wiesel. This book is about the Holocaust and is a nonfiction book. So far I have read the forward and it explained a lot about what this book is about and what to expect. Elie Wiesel is explaining his story of the Holocaust and his experience in it. He is a Holocaust survivor and decided to share his story. I am excited to find out what he went through and how he handled it.

Siddhartha blog assignment #2
Conversation between Govinda and me (Govachena)
Govinda: Hello Govachena, it's me Govinda
Me: Hi Govinda, how have you been lately
Govinda: Today me and Siddhartha were listening to the Buddha and I decided to follow the path, thinking Siddhartha would come too. But he didn't, he told me I needed to follow my own paht and that he is going to leave me.
Me: Oh that is too bad, but I wouldn't get too down on yourself. I think this will be a great opportunity for you. Plus you can't follow Siddhartha around for the rest of your life.
Govinda: Ok thanks Govachena, that really helps. I will try to follow the path on my own.
Me: Yes, no problem! Good luck I will talk to you later.
Govinda: Ok good bye
I think that Govinda had a typical reaction to this situation. But I feel as though he should get over it as soon as possible and just follow his own path. He should also realize he really does need to go follow the path on his own and think for himself instead of just following Siddhartha around and doing what he does.

My name is Govachena. I am 102 years old. I'm very good friends with Siddhartha. He teaches me everything. Siddhartha is the wisest person I know. He is known as the God of Buddhism. One thing he taught me is that what you do to make your life what it is, is what matters. In positive ways not so much negative. Siddhartha believes that if you follow the Eight Fold Path you shall reach Nirvana and be free of pain and suffering. Plus live a good and wiser next life. I hope to attain Nirvana someday and with Siddhartha by my side I feel as though it shouldn't be too hard.
